SHANGHAI, China (24 April 2025) – Nissan debuted the all-new Frontier Pro plug-in hybrid pickup truck at Auto Shanghai 2025.

Alongside the Dongfeng Nissan N7, the all-new pickup represents the second of nine New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) Nissan plans to launch in China by summer 2027. The two new models showcase Nissan’s commitment to expanding segment coverage and revitalizing its lineup with technology-packed products that enhance competitiveness.

All-new Frontier Pro

When it goes on sale in China later this year, the all-new Frontier Pro will be Nissan’s first-ever plug-in hybrid and first-ever electrified pickup truck. It blends Nissan’s decades-long pickup truck heritage with advanced powertrain technology from China, the world’s leading NEV market.

The five-seat, dual-purpose pickup is designed for families who want a comfortable and efficient vehicle for both daily city driving and weekend adventures.

Design

Styled around the concept of “Rugged Tech”, the Frontier Pro features a modern exterior and a spacious, refined interior. The illuminated Nissan brand logo, five distinctive LED elements parallel to the hood line, and subtle design homage to the 1980s Nissan D21 hardbody pickup make it stand out. All variants ride on standard 18-inch alloy wheels with 265/65R18 tires.

Powertrain

The plug-in hybrid system pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a high-output electric motor, producing over 300 kW of power and up to 800 Nm of torque. Target EV-only range for the China market is 135 km*.

Drive

Features include a 5-link rear suspension, Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, an electromechanical rear differential lock, and four drive modes: Hybrid, Pure Electric, Performance, and Snow.

Interior

Highlights include a panoramic roof, 10-inch LCD instrument panel, 14.6-inch infotainment screen, heated and ventilated front seats with massage, roof rails, an electronic cargo cover, and a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) port supplying up to 6kW.

Co-developed with Zhengzhou Nissan (ZNA), the Frontier Pro will launch in China before the end of 2025 and will also be exported to additional markets, to be announced later.

All-new Dongfeng Nissan N7

Just five months after its debut, the all-electric N7 sedan goes on sale in China this month, underlining Nissan’s speed in delivering new and refreshed models.

Design

The N7 features a low drag coefficient of 0.208, frameless doors, flush handles, and 882 OLED rear lights. Customizable lighting patterns at the front and rear allow owners to personalize their vehicle’s appearance.

Powertrain

Available with 58 kWh and 73 kWh LFP battery packs, both on 400V architecture, the N7 offers outputs from 160 kW to 200 kW, torque of 305 Nm, and charging from 10% to 80% in 19 minutes.

Drive

Range varies from 510 km (58 kWh) to 635 km** (73 kWh). Suspension setup includes MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear. With Momenta, Nissan integrates the ‘Navigate on Autopilot’ driver-assist system for highway and urban maneuvers, plus automated parking.

Interior

Features include AI-adaptive ‘zero-pressure’ seating with massage, a 15.6-inch 2.5K infotainment screen powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 8295P, up to 14-speaker audio, a refrigerated/warming compartment, 256-color ambient lighting, and a panoramic roof.

Pricing for the N7 will be announced later in April 2025.
